Condition-based Inspection and Restoration Scheduling of Pavement and Bridge Systems for Improved Post-disaster Infrastructure Systems Recovery

This research effort will develop mathematical tools to jointly devise post-disaster inspection and roadway (pavement) and bridge restoration activity schedules so as to minimize the impact of downtime (from disaster impacts or restoration actions) on traffic operations and maximize opportunities for timely completion of repairs to other lifelines using updated condition information. The tools will support real-time decision-making, wherein schedules are updated in response to revealed damage states from information from ongoing condition-monitoring and inspection.
